Natalie Bennett, Leader of The Green Party, says, “Teachers are understandably angry about a whole host of issues that are currently devastating our education system, and they are standing up for their pupils’ future as well as their own”.
Natalie continues, “Teachers are defending their professional standing, firstly against Michael Gove’s push to have unqualified staff teaching in academies and free schools, and now against Nicky Morgan’s continuation of those policies”.
She tells me that The Green Party will, “work with the teaching unions, return all schools to local democratic control, reverse privatisation and ensure that all children are taught by qualified teachers”.
If you are a pupil, a student, a parent or a teacher, then you should take a look at The Green Party Education Policy. It deserves careful consideration, before you decide where to put your cross on the ballot paper.
As Nelson Mandela said, “There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children”. I think it’s time we took a leaf out of Nelson Mandela’s book and changed the way Governments treat our children. The Green Party can help make that change.
Compared to Labour’s latest offering by Ed Miliband in the TES, the Green Party are offering much more for everyone in education.
